Battermann & Tillery Global Marine GmbH is a specialised service provider within the Battermann & Tillery Group, which was founded in 1913. While Battermann & Tillery GmbH (www.ba-ty.com) and its subsidiaries mainly focus on the survey of cargo damage and transport loss from currently 24 locations in Germany, Austria, Romania, and Turkey, Battermann & Tillery Global Marine GmbH will carry out the worldwide coordination of surveys conducted by our partners as well as marine surveys.
From our head office in Bremen, we coordinate surveys on behalf of our Principals on a worldwide scale. Battermann & Tillery Global Marine GmbH has its own worldwide trusted network of marine and cargo surveyors. Together with our partners, we offer services at 572 locations worldwide and on all continents.
In our international department, a team of experts is at your service. The team comprises experienced surveyors, graduate engineers specialising in transportation and machine engineering, business economists, forwarding specialists, nautical engineers, lawyers and specialised translators. Their fields of expertise include machinery, foodstuffs, household goods and personal effects, load and stow surveys, packaging, commodities, transport accidents and many more.
Our specialists provide competent technical assistance to the local Surveyors in order to ensure high-quality damage assessment and loss-minimisation. We constantly monitor the quality and report regularly to our Principals. Due to our strong position on the market we are able, in many cases, to directly pass on reduced rates to our Principals.
Following the inspection, the survey report is issued in German and/or English in the standard Battermann & Tillery quality which our clients have come to expect.
At our branch offices in Bremen, Hamburg and Bremerhaven, experienced nautical engineers and marine surveyors are at your service. Apart from damage inspections in the fields of general cargo, containserised cargo and bulk cargo, loss prevention is their core competence, for instance during load and stow surveys of heavy-lift cargo and project cargo, cargo securing inspections, assessment of techniques and materials for seaworthy transport packaging and pre-shipment surveys. On our Principals’ behalf, we furthermore conduct hull surveys specialising in yachts, super yachts, inland vessels, and pleasure crafts.
